Embodied Archives: Feminine Study Parlor
Sacred Sensuality
in the Wake
Welcome to the inaugural gathering of Embodied Archives. I am deeply honored that you will be joining me for this first session.
This gathering marks the beginning of a larger seasonal inquiry into desire through the framework of Black Feminine Cultural Mysticism (BFCM). Together, we will explore the relationship between water, memory, embodiment, sacred sensuality, and Black feminine interiority through close reading, guided reflection, collective discussion, breathwork, and embodied attentiveness.
There is something profoundly meaningful about beginning this work surrounded by water. The aquarium environment is not incidental to the experience. Water functions throughout this session as archive, memory, atmosphere, rupture, softness, longing, reflection, and return. Throughout the morning, we will move slowly and intentionally through readings and practices that ask what it means for Black women to remain sensorially alive within conditions that often demand hardness, over-functioning, emotional suppression, and survival.
This is not a lecture, performance, or traditional wellness event. It is a study space. A reflective space. A space for intellectual rigor, softness, embodiment, and collective presence.
Thank you for trusting me with your time, your attention, and your presence.
With love,
Kiy
